Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math support and we apologize for the inconvenience.
The most probable cause of this issue is that your sitemap is being cached – caching can improve the loading speed of your sitemap but it can also create some problems. For instance, when you add or remove posts on your website, the number of post-sitemap on your sitemap index changes, and the cache may not reflect that change right away.
To fix this issue, you need to regenerate your sitemap and then prevent it from being cached.
Here are the steps you need to follow:
Please try these steps and let us know if they work for you. If you still face any issues, please don’t hesitate to contact us again and we’ll be glad to help you further.
Thank you for trusting Rank Math!
Hi Anthony, this seems to have solved the issue, but upon closer inspection some posts aren’t showing up at the sitemap, I search for a couple of them and then updated the post, then said post shows up at the first post-sitemap, so the questions are:
If I regenerated the sitemap shouldn’t there be all the post even those that didn’t show up at all before? What can affect this? And, the way that the sitemaps are build is to have the last modified posts first even when said post is an old one? (for example, published 1 month or a year ago)
Thanks for the support!
Hello,
Thank you for your patience.
Yes, in sitemaps, the last modified/updated page is always the first one in the list even if they have been published before.
If there are posts/pages not showing before updating them, please check this link for the common reasons why they are not getting included:

Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
