Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math support. We are glad to have you on board. We are sorry to hear that you are seeing the word ‘archives’ in your search engine results.
This is because WordPress automatically adds this word to your archive pages, such as category pages or date pages. To remove this word, you need to change the title settings for your archive pages in Rank Math. Here’s how:
- Go to your WordPress dashboard and click on Rank Math > Titles & Meta.
- In the left sidebar, click on the type of archive page that you want to edit, such as Categories, Tags, or Date Archives.
- In the corresponding section, find the Archive Title option and edit it as you like. You can use variables to insert dynamic values, such as the category name or the date. You can access these variables by clicking the down arrow in the right corner of the field.
- For example, if you want to remove the word ‘archives’ from your category pages, you can use this format:
%category% - %sitename%
. This will show only the category name and your site name in the title, without the word ‘archives’.
- Save your changes and clear your site cache and browser cache.
You can learn more about how to edit the title and meta settings for your archive pages here: https://rankmath.com/kb/titles-and-meta/
We hope this helps you. If you have any questions or issues, please let us know and we’ll be happy to assist you.
Thank you for using Rank Math.
