  • Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

    Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), this could be caused by conflicting plugin/theme on your site.

    To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

    Here is a video you can follow as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcIWRhcUP2c

    Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

    Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

    after disabling all plugins and leaving only rank math and woocommerce on,

    a) sitemap has been fixed,
    b) (local sitemap) shows now that A critical error has occurred on the website. , instead of blank screen error,

    Hello,

    Thank you for the update.

    What this means is that another plugin or theme is conflicting with Rank Math.

    To find out which one is causing the problem, you can try this:

    • Deactivate all your plugins except Rank Math and WooCommerce.
    • Check if the sitemap error is gone. If yes, then one of the deactivated plugins is the culprit.
    • Reactivate your plugins one by one and check the sitemap after each activation. When the error comes back, you’ll know which plugin is conflicting with Rank Math.
    • Do the same thing with your themes if none of the plugins are causing the issue.

    Please tell us which plugin or theme is creating the sitemap error so we can investigate further and help you fix it.

    Best regards,

    Hi,

    thank you for your assistance,

    sensitive data updated with logins.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for your reply. I appreciate your patience while we try to fix this issue.

    I have taken a look at this issue and would need some additional information to be able to help troubleshoot it. To help me understand what’s causing the problem with your local sitemap, I need you to do a few things:

    First, please deactivate all the plugins on your site except Rank Math and WooCommerce. This will help us rule out any plugin conflicts that might be interfering with the sitemap generation.

    Next, please add some code to your wp-config.php file. This file is located in the root folder of your WordPress installation. The code will enable a debug log that will record any errors or warnings that happen on your site.

    Here is the code you need to add:

    // Enable WP_DEBUG mode
    define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );

    // Enable Debug logging to the /wp-content/debug.log file
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );

    // Disable display of errors and warnings
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );
    @ini_set( 'display_errors', 0 );

    After you have added the code, please visit your local sitemap again and see if the error still occurs. If it does, go to the /wp-content/ folder of your site and look for a file named debug.log. This file will contain some information that will help me troubleshoot the issue.

    Please send me a copy of the debug.log file. You can use a service like wetransfer.com to upload it and share the link with me.

    I hope these steps are clear and easy to follow. If you have any trouble or questions along the way, please don’t hesitate to ask. I’m here to help you.

    Thank you for using Rank Math.

    Hi,

    thank you for your assistance again,

    wetransfer link with debug.log file inserted in sensitive data,

    error still occurs after debug.

    Hello again,

    Thank you for getting back to us and I apologize for the trouble.

    It looks like you have sent us the link to your wp-content folder instead of the debug.log file. I’m sorry if my initial instructions were unclear. Please allow me to explain how you can find and send us the debug.log file.

    1. First, you need to enable the wp-debug.log mode on your site. This will create a log file that records any errors or warnings that occur on your site. To enable this mode, you need to edit your wp-config.php file and add the lines of code that I previously shared here. You can use an FTP client or a file manager tool in your hosting panel to access and edit this file.
    2. Second, you need to visit your sitemap URL again and try to reproduce the error. This will trigger the wp-debug.log mode and generate a log file in your wp-content folder.
    3. Third, you need to go back to your site files and open the wp-content folder. There you will see a file named debug.log. You need to download this file to your computer.
    4. Fourth, you need to upload this file to a file-sharing service like wetransfer.com. This will create a unique link that you can share with us. Please use the sensitive data section in your support ticket to send us this link.
    5. By doing these steps, you will help us identify and fix the problem with your sitemap as soon as possible.

      Thank you for your cooperation and patience. We appreciate your trust in Rank Math.

    Hi,

    are there any updates regarding the issue?

    thank you

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

    We’ve replicated this issue and forwarded it to our development team for further investigation.

    We still don’t have any ETA on this matter but you can continue to use the plugin, however, any sitemap where the hidden products would be placed will return this fatal error.

    When an update is available that fixes this we’ll update you on the same here.

    We would really appreciate your kind patience regarding this matter.

    Thank you.
