Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
These entries are used by our plugin to see if the post in question has already had the internal links data processed. If you delete those entries our Link Counter module will not know which posts/pages are already processed and it will start processing them again upon editing your old posts.
However, it is safe to delete them. The only way to really get rid of these entries is to disable the Link Counter module in Rank Math > Dashboard and then delete those options from the post meta table.
Please note that we always recommend creating a backup first when working with databases and making such actions.
Hope that helps.
Thank you.
Hi Reinelle,
Thank you so much for your reply.
Could you help me understand what this Link Counter is for? I’ve tried reading your KB articles but I’m still not very sure if it’s a good idea to turn it off. Will it affect my SEO rankings in any way at all?
Please advise… thank you.
Hello,
The link counter is a Rank Math feature where you can view all the incoming, external, and incoming links on the post list view on your WordPress dashboard
For more information, here’s our guide you can check (if not yet):
https://rankmath.com/kb/link-counter/
However, disabling that feature does not affect your site’s SEO as all your links are still intact on your posts and pages.
Hope that helps.
Thank you.
