  • Hello there,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.

I understand that you want to change the site name that appears in the Google search results, instead of just the site URL.

To do this, you need to go to Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Homepage on your WordPress dashboard. There you will see an option to edit your Homepage Title. You can use the %sitename% variable to insert your site name in the Homepage Title. For example, you can enter something like this:

Homepage Title: %sitename% – The Best Media Agency

You can set your site name in WordPress > Settings > General. You can learn more about the different variables you can use in Rank Math here: https://rankmath.com/kb/variables-in-seo-title-description/

Please note that if you are using a static page as your homepage, you will need to edit the Rank Math settings of that page instead. You can do this by going to Pages > All Pages and clicking on Edit for your homepage. Then scroll down to the Rank Math meta box and click on the Edit Snippet button. There you will see the same options to edit the SEO title and description for your homepage.

I hope this helps you change your site name in the Google search results and improve your site appearance. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about these features. We are always here to assist you.

Thank you for using Rank Math.

    Good Day,

Thank you for your response. However, please note that it is not the SEO title and description that needs to be changed. As you said, the SEO title and description can easily be changed by editing the snippet.

However, as the image that I have attached again shows New Image, what I need to show is the Site Name that appears ABOVE the SEO title and description. Where in Rank Math is this setting?

    Hi there,

Thanks for explaining your question in more detail. I can see that you want to show your site name above the SEO title and description when people search for your site on Google.

This feature is called Site Name and it’s something that Google is experimenting with. Google uses different sources to figure out and show your Site Name – one of them is the WebSite custom schema, which is a way of telling Google more information about your site. But since this feature is not fully rolled out yet, Google might not always show your Site Name even if you have a WebSite custom schema.

Don’t worry, adding a custom WebSite schema is not too hard. You can do it in two ways:

    • Go to Rank Math > Schema Templates > Add New > Custom and set up the schema yourself.
    • Or, use one of these tools to generate a WebSite schema HTML code for your site: here or here. Then, copy and paste the generated code to Rank Math > Schema Templates > Add New > Import > HTML code.

I hope this makes sense and helps you out. If you have any other questions or issues, please feel free to reach out to me.

Thank you for using Rank Math. Have a wonderful day!

    Thank you
