    Rank Math free

    Hi,
I need to know and prove to my client the following info with an email written by your support:

Is the WordPress plugin Rankmath free GDPR compliant?

“Is data processed by third parties? How, which, for what?”

“Cookies: For what purposes and for how long does processing take place? Functionality, storage duration. Please provide specific information on how cookies are actually used on the site.”

“Is the user’s IP address processed, and which associated data/information is stored for how long?”

Would anyone using this plugin for their Website in Austria (Europe) have to mention its use in their Privacy or Cookie Policy?

I need written answers to each question emailed to i***@v******************** please, not a reference to a link.

    Thanks
    Mel

  • Hello,

Thank you so much for getting in touch.

Our plugin is compliant with the GDPR rules because when installed on any customer website we don’t process any user data besides the Rank Math email address of the account used to connect the website to the plugin.

Any data from the users of the website will never reach our servers and it’s kept in the server database.

The only feature that breaks this compliance is the Analytics code installation but that can be disabled from the plugin settings and you can use the following plugin to install the Google Analytics tracking code if needed: https://wordpress.org/plugins/ga-germanized/

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hi,
Thanks for your helpful reply. Could you please email it to me to i***@v********************?
    Kind regards,
    Mel

    Hi,
You write in your previous reply: “The only feature that breaks this compliance is the Analytics code installation but that can be disabled from the plugin settings”

Could you please give me instructions where in the settings this can be disabled? I can find it.

    Thanks
    Mel

    Hello,

You can head over to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics and disable the tracking code from there.

If the Analytics module is crucial for you the tracking code needs to be implemented with a GDPR solution such as the one we mentioned previously.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

In RankMath > General Settings > Analytics there is still the big button “Connect your rankmath account”. I haven’t used those settings before. So there is not tracking code I need to disable then?

    Thanks

If I use the following plugin to install the Google Analytics tracking code if needed: https://wordpress.org/plugins/ga-germanized/

would this be a GDPR-compliant solution?

    Hello,

Yes, that plugin makes it so the Analytics tracking code is compliant by requiring explicit permission from users to track the data.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hi,
thanks for your answers, could you please also answer my previous question:

In RankMath > General Settings > Analytics there is still the big button “Connect your rankmath account”. I haven’t used those settings before. So there is not tracking code I need to disable then?

    Thanks,
    Mel

    Hello,

If you have not connected your Google Account, then Rank Math will not add the Google Analytics tracking code to your website – so there is no tracking code to be disabled.

    Hope that helps.

Great. Thanks for all your help.

    Hello,

Glad that we could help clarify the situation.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
