🔸 Custom Taxonomy Meta Description not changing

I have a Custom Post Type & Custom Taxonomies.

In RankMath SEO settings, by default Taxonomy Archive Description is:

    %term_description%

    lets say, I change it to something else;

    %term%

Now, if I go to that Taxonomy Term and view the RankMath SEO Meta Description, it is still showing the value of %term_description% only.

Its NOT showing the value of %term% that I changed it to.

(I am NOT talking about display in Front End. I am talking about the Rankmath’s SEO Meta Box in WordPress Admin)

Basically its NOT changing as per change I made in Meta Description.

However, if I change something in Meta Title, its working perfectly.

Can you please check and confirm its not a bug.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

As you asked, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    @Alberto

    Note:

    1) What I provided is a STAGING website. So feel free to change anything.

    2) I tried debugging using this.
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

and the issue seems to exist even when plugins & themes disabled.

So at the moment, it looks like a bug.

    Please check and confirm !

    Thank You !

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

The description display usually takes an excerpt if the description is empty. This should however not worry you, since the correct description is being shown in the front end of your page. You can test this here heymeta.com. You can also view your page source and you will find the correct description by Rank math.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

You are right. Its showing fine in front end. Thats good.

But is n’t it a bug if its not showing in back-end ? (like I described above)

(if I modify META TITLE same way, its reflecting properly in both front end & backend also.)

This problem is happening only for META DESCRIPTION.

For now, its Ok for me as its at least showing fine in front end.

But if possible, correct this in next version so that software will be more perfect.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

If it is in’t too much to ask, could you please re-enable the staging site and update the sensitive data so we can investigate this further.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
