redirected product showing error in sitemap

    Hello,

    I ran a SEO program checking my website and got a report telling I have an error in my product-sitemap.

    It regards product A, which I have redirected via 301 to product B.
    And product B is also mentioned separately in the sitemap.

    I think I know I could avoid this redirect error by setting product A to non-index.

    However I would like to keep the content of product A still being indexed by google. Because product B is much alike product A.

    Can you please advise how to solve this issue?

    Hello,

    Thanks for contacting us and sorry for the inconvenience caused.

    If you have redirected product A to product B then it will not be indexed in the SERPs by Google as Google will see a redirection when they will crawl it. So if you want it to get indexed then you should remove the redirect.

    If you want to keep the redirection, you should set product A as Noindex to fix the issue about the URL you are getting in the SEO audit.
