Permalink changing slash to dash

We are working on generating a new site to replace our existing site, and need to match permalinks to the existing product pages. The current format looks like

    …/18331-001/196458

When I change the permalink to this structure, it changes it to:

    …/18331-001-196458

Is there a way to hold the structure (note that 18331-001/196458 is the page address… 18331-001/ is not a higher level page)

  • Unfortunately, your reply did not address the issue. I am not asking about the link change from our development to our final site, and have no issue with the http or https prefix. I am only asking about how to retain slashes when wordpress is replacing with dashes.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Apologies for the previous reply as it didn’t come from our support staff and seems like just spam replies.

However, please note that the forward slash (/) character is reserved for the delimiting of substrings whose relationship is hierarchical. It is used to distinguish the level of pages like category or file directory.

That is the reason why the permalink is getting changed to a hyphen () instead of a slash.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
