All links nofollow when I don’t want them to be

I am having some trouble with RankMath and it was brought to my attention by others. It seems that even if I do not click on the ‘nofollow’ button on links in my article, they are all appearing as nofollow. It seems that this is also happening for internal links, as well as external articles which I need to be dofollow. I even went in to edit the HTML but they still appear as nofollow..

I have already changed the setting to ensure that all links are not automatically set to nofollow but they still dont work…

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Could you please check if this issue can still be reproduced when you have Rank Math disabled on your site?
If it is not, please share a link to one of the affected pages so that we can investigate further?

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Thanks for coming back to me Michael. I haven’t yet tried deactivating RankMath as I’m concerned about all my redirections being deactivated. I use a Pipdig theme which is widely used with RankMath and I can see that others do not have this problem.

    HI Sarah,

    Thanks for the follow up.

The redirections are saved in a separate table in the database and thus this will not get lost when you temporarily disable the plugin.

Let us know how this goes. Thank you.

Still no luck unfortunately. I have deactivated RankMath and yet it seems to still be in the HTML.

    Hello,

If when you deactivate the Rank Math plugin and it stills show the links as no follow, it has nothing to be with Rank Math (not an issue on the plugin).

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), you can try to find the conflicting plugin with the following guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Please let us know if you find the culprit.

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hi Sarah,

Since the nofollow is still there when you disable Rank Math – this is not something Rank Math is causing. You have to follow the same process for all your plugins and disable them one by one until you find the problematic plugin.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
