Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
It seems that the AMP redirection is working on the website you shared. We tested adding the amp suffix to the pages and it’s redirecting to the non-AMP version correctly.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
Thanks.
But is there any way that I can see that the pages are redirecting properly?
For example, here is an amp version link of my site.
https://esladvice.com/how-to-ask-someone-about-their-health-condition/?amp=1
Isn’t it supposed to go to the following non-amp page once I click the above amp page?
https://esladvice.com/how-to-ask-someone-about-their-health-condition/
I can still see that if I click on the amp page link, it doesn’t go to the original non-amp page.
Hello,
If you’ve configured your website to use the query parameter ?amp for AMP pages and disabled the AMP plugin on your website, then no redirection is required.
When a visitor lands on these pages, the query parameter will be ignored, and the browser will load the canonical non-amp page for your visitor. In this case, no 404 error will be captured, and you need not worry about duplicate content issues since the page points out the canonical URL.
Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Thank you.
Can you explain what do you mean by query parameter.
And, what happens if I deactivate Rankmath? Will my redirection still work?

The redirection you’ve set won’t work after you deactivate Rank Math.
Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Thank you.
I have deactivated the both the AMP plugin and Rankmath. Will that affect my traffic?
Hello,
As my colleague mentioned above that deactivating the AMP plugin shouldn’t cause any affect on your traffic since the query parameter will be ignored, and the browser will load the canonical non-amp page for your visitor.
However, as you also deactivate the Rank Math plugin, the SEO setting you have made with Rank Math won’t work anymore and it might affect on your traffic. That might break your SEO setup for your site.
Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Thank you
