Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
Could you please share the HTML sitemap URL so we can check as well?
Meanwhile, please ensure that your categories are set to index in the Titles & Meta settings and individual robots meta tag if you want to include them in the HTML Sitemap.
Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
No, the categories are set to No Index – and I want to have it that way. I don’t want the category pages to be indexed. This setting is for the bots.
But the HTML sitemap is for humans. And I would like to display it there. So, in my view, this should be handled separately.
Thanks,
Patric
Hello,
Unfortunately, setting the category page as noindex will also exclude it from the HTML sitemap. You don’t want Google to discover the category page within your HTML sitemap page just to see that it is set to noindex.
At the moment, we currently don’t have any filter to get a workaround for this since this is a very new feature from our plugin.
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Hi,
Thanks for your replay.
Can you please escalate this to your developers?
There is a good reason to set a page to No Index, but show it on the web to visitors. It’s like Privacy Policy, TOS and more pages you have on your website but not want to index it.
To show a page to the public and to set it as No Index are two entirely different things.
If it’s not a bug, then it is for sure a feature request.
Thanks,
Patric
