Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Those pages are dynamically generated and Google may have discovered those URLs by other means.
In this case, you can disallow bots from crawling these URLs from the robots.txt file at WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Edit Robots.txt like so:
Disallow: */?min_price*
Disallow: */?showtype*
Once done, give Google some time to recrawl your site to reflect the changes.
I hope that helps.
Thank you.
Hi,
but it’s not a solution to disallow only two, because there are a lot of them!
we run 6 shops and all shops have Rank math PRO, and All of them face these issues!
how to block these strings ALL ?
Also,
we notice not only these strings indexed, also: http://www.site.com/product/blablabla/feed/
the /feed/ is indexed also, why???
rank math shouldn’t prevent these things from indexing? it looks like something is clearly not working,
is the “canonical” URL created not because of this?
we want to understand, because it looks strange that rank math doesn’t prevent this 🙂
Please check the image b)
the image b) shows that there are a lot of /feed/ links indexed also.
this is such a severe issue! google indexes these pages instead of important product pages…we losing money, we lose sales on this!
please try to understand the importance of this,
thank yoiu
Hello,
Feed URLs are not created for humans, but for RSS feed crawlers and readers. They are only basic code versions of your actual content pages.
You do not want these pages to be indexed as Google doesn’t like them and would most not likely not show them to users anyways.
In this case, please add this on your other websites as well to disallow them:
Disallow: */?min_price*
Disallow: */?showtype*
Disallow: */feed/
Hope that helps.
Thank you.
but I don’t understand,
if you know that the issue is present, why don’t you do it on the rank math setup itself???
We already have thousands and thousands of these BAD links and only now when the issue is Accutane you saying “yeah…. just go and block it they are bad links” WE ALREADY KNOW THAT THEY ARE BAD LINKS
you should prevent it BEFORE it happens!!!
Hello,
Feed URLs and filters need to be crawlable and indexable in other contexts too. For example, podcasts need to be indexed by streaming services and some stores get better conversion rates with filter pages than without. Taking no action by default has less drastic consequences.
Hope that clarifies things.
