Images not detected in Elementor Flip Boxes

    Hello,

    I have a web page that uses a lot of the “Flip Box” and “Image Button” Elementor widgets. In the Rank Math SEO tab for this page,
    in General > Content Readability, it says that I am not using rich media like images or videos. It appears that it is not reading the images contained in those widgets, even though they are image-based. When I Preview the page and Inspect the flip box, I am able to find the image link in the code.

    I had this same problem with Yoast SEO as well. Do you know what could be causing this, or if it will be addressed?

    More importantly, are search engine crawlers going to have similar issues overlooking the images contained in these widgets?

    Hi,

    Thanks a lot for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

    Some of the content added using page builders is not available for Rank Math (and other SEO plugins) to see. Especially if the content is added using Shortcodes.

    You can safely ignore the failed test because it is fulfill its purpose – which is to ensure that you know that you must add an image.

    The score is there only for your reference anyway and doesn’t affect your actual rankings. Treat it only as a to-do list, nothing more. Don’t try to live by it and don’t follow the tests religiously.

    Hi Todd, thanks for the quick reply.

    It may be true that crawlers don’t need to sense images to rank in search engines, but if they can’t sense the images, they won’t be able to read the image alt tags, correct?

    One of the Rank Math checklist items is to include the desired key phrases in image alt tags. Of course, that is denoted as missing on my checklist, so won’t that have some real effect on the page’s SEO ranking?

    Hello,

    Keep in mind that crawlers are able to find the images since they crawl the websites replicating the user behaviors. As you can see here, the Google bot use the same browser as usual users, so they can see your images (and then, your alt tags).

    So, meanwhile maybe plugins can’t detect those images, since you are adding them, you don’t have to worry about the SEO score. They will be found by the crawlers and that is what you really want.
