Password protected post redirect to 404 page - Support

Hello~ I have been using rank math redirection to redirect urls with 404 errors to page “https://fitopts.com/404-error/”.

But recently I found that my password protected post will be redirect to “https://fitopts.com/404-error/” as well event after I enter the right password.

Here is a example, I protected the post “https://fitopts.com/test/” with password “1111” and after you enter the password, you won’t go to the post page, instead you will be redirected to “https://fitopts.com/404-error/”.

May I know what’s happening and how can I resolve it?

It seems to be working fine on our end. Can you please confirm if the post is working fine when Rank Math is disabled? If it does, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

Thanks a lot for your kind reply!

I have deactivated Rank Math and the redirection to the error page is still present. However, I have only set the redirection to the error page in the Rank Math plugin and nowhere else. So I am wondering why the redirection is still valid when Rank Math is already disabled.

Hello,

In this case, since it is still redirecting to the 404 page even without Rank Math activated, this could be a plugin/theme conflict on your site.

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), to determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.
