Please note that if you wanted to also include the subdomain, you should also add it to the list to include the nofollow attribute.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work. I had tried it already. I’ve also done some troubleshooting and deactivated themes and plugins. The result is the same.
After installing ‘external links’ an extra plugin, it solves the problem.
I am coming to the conclusion, that this Rankmath feature (make external links nofollow) just doesn’t work that well …

I checked on my end and the nofollow option is working fine for the subdomains. Can you please share a screenshot of the WP Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Links > Nofollow Domains section of your site so we can this further? You can use a tool like https://imgbb.com/ to share the screenshots.
