    My rank math sitemap submission to GSC always prompts an error?
    GSC’s tip: Your Sitemap is displayed as an HTML page. Please use a supported Sitemap format.
    The tail of my submission is /sitemap_index.xml. How could it be HTML?

    Recently our domain name resolution DNS has changed. Does this directly affect Google’s indexing and sitemaps? I found that the time point of abnormal data coincided with the time of domain name resolution change. How should I deal with this situation?

    Hello,

    Yes, if Google crawled the website during the DNS change, it might affect the indexing.

    However, I checked the sitemap, it is working fine.

    Can you please follow these steps?
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:

    Once done, clear your website cache, remove all the sitemaps from the Search Console and resubmit the sitemap_index.xml.

    Thank you for your reply, I have already tried the refresh method you provided. Nothing works. I don’t think it’s a cache issue, and now some of my previously indexed pages are now getting auto-redirect errors in large numbers. But actually I didn’t do any redirection work.
    Now I check one by one, and I can only think that it is because the domain name has undergone a new DNS resolution. Will this situation affect the website IP recognition and cause the Google robot to automatically redirect? But now how do I deal with it, I have limited skills in this area.

    If you check the screenshot in the sensitive data section you’ll see that the sitemap is loading correctly for your website.

    We also tested it via the Googlebot and were able to see that it’s responding with a successful status code so it’s able to be fetched.

    So, it’s just a matter of submitting the sitemap according to this tutorial and waiting for Google to crawl it and update the results: https://rankmath.com/kb/submit-sitemap-to-google/

    Please share a screenshot of the error you are getting in your GSC account. Please make sure to click on the sitemap and share the detailed error and the last read date in the screenshot. You can use a tool like https://imgbb.com to share the screenshot.

    Please try submitting the sitemap with the following structure: https://yourdomain.com/?sitemap=1

    Also, make sure to remove all the other sitemaps you have currently submitted on GSC and only submit the main one.
