    Hi,

What Fallback Behaviour and Redirection Type settings in General Settings should I choose so that I satisfy this requirement from google:

“To remove a job posting that is no longer available, follow these steps:

Make sure your page is removed by doing one of the following actions:
Ensure the validThrough property is populated and in the past.
Remove the page entirely (so that requesting it returns a 404 or 410 status code).
Remove JobPosting structured data from the page.

    Thanks

    Ian

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math.

The Fallback Behaviour should be set to default 404.

Also, ensure that you have selected Yes for Unpublish when Expired option in the JobPosting Schema.

Please refer to this article for more information:

    Hope this helps.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Thank you, what about the Redirection Type in the Settings screen? The dropdown options are 301, 302, 307, 410 451.

    Hello,

If you are using Default 404, you should choose 301 Permanent Move in the dropdown section.

    404

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Follow up question – if I set the fallback behaviour to Custom Redirection and point it to a custom url does that still satisfy Google’s requirements?

I’ve selected Yes for Unpublish when Expired option in the JobPosting Schema and the redirection type is 301 as you advised.

    Thanks

    Hello,

This will depend on you if you wish to redirect 404 pages to other content. Google should still acknowledge this if you wish to redirect it to a custom URL instead.

    Hope that helps. Thank you.
