Editor users (and below) cannot update meta data

    Users with the editor or author role cannot update the meta data. When edited, the update button remains vague instead of printable. This problem is not with administrator users.

    The website uses Wordfence. I have configured the firewall but without success.

    Articles I have looked at:

    The problem is not that they are not saved, but that changes are not even detected and the update button is not lit/clickable. This problem is with all users except administrators.

    Wordfence is blocking the updateMeta route.

    As you have already whitelisted the routes, please get in touch with your web host and ask them why the route is still blocked and returning a 403 error.
