Could you please head over to WP > Settings > Permalinks?
You might be missing a starting slash in the permalinks settings.
If you aren’t sure, you can share a screenshot of that settings page so we can guide you better.

The permalink setting (https://sitename.com/sample-post/) is selected. I saved settings without making any changes to refresh the permalinks, but the problem still persists.
