Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Please check the URL using https://www.heymeta.com/ and see if it is showing the correct title and description that you added with Rank Math.
However, it is a pretty common thing with Google these days. It happens with 70% of the results that even if everything’s fine, Google decides to show a different meta title/description for your search keyword, there is nothing you can do as Google sometimes ignores the custom meta info altogether and show something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better.
You can refer to this guide for more information:

I hope this helps. Looking forward to helping you.
Hi Anas,
I used the meta checker link you provided, which correctly showed the matching titles and descriptions I have written in Rank Math on my website pages. However, the issue is that I’m not seeing that updated on the internet when searching for the links or keywords associated with those pages.
I haven’t had an issue with this before on other websites I’ve used Rank Math. Is there something that is supposed to be connected or associated with for this to work properly?
Another question I have is regarding the color bars next to the title, Permalink, and description. What do they mean? Should I not use up the whole amount of allowed characters – What amount of characters should I write for each of the sections?
Hello,
Since the correct meta is already generated on the front end, it is up to Google if they acknowledge the change.
Google usually and mostly refers to this meta tag as stated in their documentation and if they think that the content of the meta description isn’t relevant to the search term, they will pull the description from your content instead as long as it is closely relevant to the topic.
Unfortunately, there’s nothing you can do if Google decides to show a different description on the SERP.
As for the inquiry with regard to the “color bars”, you may refer to our guide about it here: https://rankmath.com/kb/ideal-meta-description-length/#what-is-the-ideal-length-for-meta-description
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Hi Jeremy,
Alright, thanks that is helpful to know!
I read that article, though it doesn’t explain what the colors mean. Could you clarify that for me?
Is 160 characters the ideal number or is it too much since the color red shows?
Let me know, thanks!
Hello,
When you see a small red bar when you just start constructing your description, it means that your description is too short:

And when you go past 160 characters, it will show a full red bar:

The recommended description should show a bar with green on it:

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Hi Jeremy,
Okay, thanks for clarifying, that was helpful to know!
I was noticing a full red bar when using 160 characters. So I will change to fewer characters to have green on it.
That is all my questions, thanks for the help!
