Hi, I followed this article but it’s not working.

First, when I putting the metatag ID for domain verification into rankmath wp plugin bing webmaster, it is not working. Bing says meta tag not found when I am clicking to verify. Then I manually put in header.php (generate press theme) between <head> and </head> but still bing cannot detect.

Second, you showed to generate and copy API key from bing webmaster and then to put in bing api in rankmath. But there is no such option now. There is indexnow api.

Also there is no “settings” option beside instant indexing.

    Attaching screenshot

I just want to use Bing Api for quick indexing. Any updated latest tutorial?

    Regards,
    mainak

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

As initial troubleshooting, please try clearing your website cache and allow Bing to verify your website again.

The API Key in the instant indexing is auto-generated so you don’t have to set it up over in Bing. You just need to make sure that this API key is working.

To locate the settings of Instant indexing, head over to your WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Instant Indexing.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Hi, site is now verified by adding CNAME record.

You saying API key is auto generated but how do I know that it is sending API request to bing webmaster?

Also do I need to install IndexNow WP Plugin? You guys should update the bing api tutorial on your blog. It is outdated and creating confusion.

Do you have an updated blog tutorial OR video on this?

    Hello,

Yes, Rank Math automatically generates the API key for IndexNow(Bing).

After submitting the URL with IndexNow, you can check the history tab, if it shows 202 or 200, it means that IndexNow is submitting the URL to Bing.

You can refer to this article for more information:

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

That article has screenshots of interface that is outdated.

    Old interface screenshot: https://ibb.co/PMDPNbj

    New interface screenshot: https://ibb.co/Vq0H23x

We don’t have instant indexing plugin interface like that.

I saw Instant Indexing plugin already has IndexNow API. Do I still need to install the IndexNow WP plugin separately?

Also it shows 200 response when I manually submitted URL to bing but its not indexed yet.

    Hello,

We sincerely apologize for the confusion when referencing our article guide.

The settings page on our guide is the default appearance if you don’t install the separate Instant Indexing plugin for Google.

So, there are two types of instant indexing in Rank Math, the first one is the IndexNow (meant for Bing and Yandex) which is currently built-in with our plugin. The second one is the Instant Indexing for Google.

This settings page is what you see when you only enable IndexNow but when you install the separate plugin, you will see this instead: https://imgbb.com/Vq0H23x

As for the 200 status code inquiry, it means that IndexNow API has accepted the request, but the site is yet to be verified with the API Key.

    Hope that clarifies any doubt.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Hi, thanks for clarifying. As you said the site is yet to be verified by the API key, what should I do now to get it verified or to speed up the process?

    Hello,

Unfortunately, there’s no definite time when the search engine will verify the submitted URL. once the URL is submitted, it’s up to the search engines.

I hope this clarifies any doubt.

    Thank you.
