Why redirected (301) posts are showing in XML sitemap?

I have 301 some posts using the Rankmath feature but all the posts are getting in auto generated XML sitemap. Ideally sitemaps should only include URLs that are HTTP status 200 (OK), indexable, canonical and unique.

i.e. – All 301 posts are visible under “All Posts” too..

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

We do not check redirections before adding the URLs to the sitemap. You can either add the IDs in the sitemap settings to exclude those posts/pages/CPTs or you can mark them as Noindex from the Advanced Tab of the SEO Meta Box and that would also exclude the URLs from the sitemap: https://rankmath.com/kb/advanced-tab/#robots-meta

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Thanks, is their way to get the post id in bulk of all redirected URLs?

Also, this things should be taken care at Rank Math end, no?

    Hello,

We currently do not have a way to get all redirected URLs on a website.

If you created a redirect but did not change the URL post URL within the post/taxonomy editor, Rank Math will not be able to detect it. Please change/delete the original post/page URL in the WP editor for it to be changed/removed in the sitemap. In other words, a URL should not exist any more on a website for it to be removed from the sitemap.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have questions.
