    Hi,

In the sitemap generated by latest version rank math, the number of images shown is incorrect. I have contacted your support regarding this before a month and I have used all the version of Rank Math from 1.0.92 to 1.0.95.1, the problem still exists.

The issue started happening from the version 1.0.92 and I have also found what is causing this issue. Rank Math is calculating number of images in the gallery twice.

For example: If I have 20 images attached in my gallery, rank math is showing as 40 images in the sitemap.

The first post in my sitemap has 29 images attached (25 in gallery and 4 as media files) but sitemap created by latest version of rank math is showing as 54 images because it is doubling the number of images in the gallery (29+25 = 54), while the sitemap created by version 1.0.91 and Yoast is showing right number of images as 29.

I have attached 3 screenshots in the sensitive data field:

The first screenshot is sitemap created by latest version of Rankmath (1.0.95.1) and it is showing wrong number of images.

The second screenshot is sitemap created by version 1.0.91 and it showing correct number of images.

The third screenshot is sitemap created by latest version of Yoast and it showing correct number of images as Rank Math version 1.0.91

Please check on it and provide me a solution.

    Regards,
    Manojh

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math for help with your sitemaps showing incorrect numbers of images.

I checked several posts on your website and it looks like the issue is fixed now. Do you still need help with this? If so, a good first place to look is to try using the default WordPress gallery if you are using a plugin to display galleries.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have questions.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply!

“I checked several posts on your website and it looks like the issue is fixed now.” This is because I am using the 1.0.91 version of Rank Math and if I update to any new version after 1.0.91, the sitemap shows incorrect number of images, as I said before.

I am not using any plugin to display galleries and I am using the default WordPress gallery only.

    Regards,
    Manojh

    Hello,

For initial troubleshooting, please follow the steps below:

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:

If the issue persists, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress login in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
