    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math for help with your category pages marked as noindex.

First, please make sure the category pages are set to index. To do this, go to Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Categories and make sure “Category Archives > Robots Meta is on.

For individual category pages, you can check the category meta settings in the editor. The robots meta setting on each category page should be set to index.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have questions.

    Hi Nigel

I doid also contact my hosting provider WPX. They have replied as follows:

WPX Reply: “I’ve checked on the issue, however, since we are not SEO experts I cannot be precise on what is causing the issue.

As you can see accessing the sitemap using this link is showing the sitemaps is working as expected:
    https://imtheexplorer.com/?sitemap=1

Furthermore, I noticed you are currently using the RankMath plugin, and as far as I’m familiar Rank Math does not generate physical sitemap files in the server’s root directory, however, you currently have 3 sitemap.xml files in the root directory that could be causing the issue to appear.

I would recommend confirming if that is causing the issue with Rank Math’s support and advising us back on what should be done on our end.

Please let me know if I can help with anything else.

    Warm regards,
    Dimitar P.

Now, can you please help me with how can I fix the issue? Are the 3 sitemaps in root directory causing the issue?
I will be waiting for a helpful response.

    Thanks

    Hi Nigel

    Thanks for your co-operation.

I did it and waiting to see what google does. I also uncheck this “Noindex Empty Category and Tag Archives” as one of the SEO experts advised me.

Now, with another of my site, an issue with the site map has arrived. Earlier the site “https://imtheexplorer.com/” was shown on google with www. version. But, a few months ago, I changed it with my host provider and now it’s without the non-www version “https://imtheexplorer.com/”.

After this change, the sitemap with this site is not working fine. When I click on the sitemap link from your rank math dashboard, it appears as you can see in the screenshot.

And from the search console, with this sitemap, google is not discovering all my pages. I has discovered only one page. You can check it in the screenshot.

Can you please help me to fix this issue also?

I will be waiting for your another cordial co-operation.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Yes, Rank Math does not generate the sitemap files in your root directory as they are virtually/dynamically created.

In this case, please delete or at least rename those sitemap XML files in your website’s root directory for Rank Math to handle your sitemaps.

Once done, remove all your submitted sitemaps in your Google Search Console and resubmit your main sitemap only:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/submit-sitemap-to-google/

Then, give Google some time to recrawl your sitemaps.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.
