Google search console couldn’t fetch sitemap if plugin not updated

    Dear support

    We are an agency that has been happily using your plug for the past two years.

    We received a mail from the wordpress dashboard saying that your pluging provoked an error.
    This is the mail text (sorry.. it is in Italian..)

    We checked Google search console and SC couldn’t fetch sitemap.

    After updating your plugin search console was able to fetch the sitemap.

    It seems that your plugin needs to be continuously updated to make sitemap readable??
    Please let us know if this is a known bug and if you’re going to solve this. Unfortunately, if this situation continues, we have no other choice than switch to another plugin… but we really love how your plugin works…

    Kindly share the error coming from that fatal error.

    Having the error log helps us determine what’s causing the issue.

    As for your sitemap issue, we haven’t received any bug report with regards to this. Please ensure that your sitemap is not completely cached by your caching plugin or any server-level caching services. Please refer to this guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    If the issue persists, please share your website URL so we can further check it.

    We also recevied this message, two months ago, do not wich one caused the sitemap fech problem

    Can you please confirm if you are still getting the error after updating the plugin? If yes, please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins and steps to reproduce the error in the designated Sensitive Data section.

    Hi! no, after updating no problem.
    Problem is that we have a lot of websites and our sistem are not updating pluging daily..
    My concern is: if not updated your plugin stops creating sitemap??
    I just wanted to inform you about this issue, if it is an isolated case, no problem. If it is an issue it is a dangerous one…

    Hello,

    The updates shouldn’t cause an issue with sitemap crawling if the sitemaps are working fine. Please make sure that you have excluded your sitemap from caching as this must be the reason for the couldn’t fetch error. Once the plugin was updated, the cache was flushed and it started working fine: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
