Page Sitemap not updating

    Hi. I had an issue with a new Page created not getting added to the Page Sitemap. I checked all of your suggestions from https://rankmath.com/kb/url-not-in-sitemap/, but none of them resolved the issue. I wasn’t sure whether pages needed to be linked to menus or not to get included, so I added it to the mobile menu, but it still wasn’t showing.

    What ended up working was going into the Rank Math Sitemap Settings for Pages, turning it off, Saving, and turning it back on again. Seems like it could be a glitch or bug.

    The website I was working on is https://accessable.ca. It is hosted on SiteGround and has all the latest WordPress updates. It uses SiteGround Optimizer for its caching, which I cleared several times. I also added the recommended url exclusions as suggestion on your help page. So I”m pretty confident it was not a caching issue in this site’s environment.

    Anyway, you can just take this as a report. My only question, which I couldn’t find anywhere, is whether Rank Math needs Pages published on Menus in order to show in the Sitemap or not. I’m guess not.

    No, the page doesn’t need to be linked from the menu to include it in your sitemap.

    This seems to be just a caching issue from your end. It is common that the sitemap is heavily cached in some setups that’s why we created this guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    With that said, to further exclude your sitemap from being cached, you may apply this filter code to your theme’s functions.php file and flush the sitemap again by following this video screencast.

    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');
