    Hello,

We’ve found that the OpenGraph fallback thumbnail under RankMath -> Global Meta setting overrides the image that we put on the Home page’s Snippet Editor, same to our product pages.

There are 2 sets of meta property=”og:image” content=” while we checking the page source code, any idea what caused this situation?

    Thank you very much!

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

I’ve checked your site, and the duplicate og:image and other meta tags on your site seem coming from one of your active plugins.

To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Here is a video you can follow as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcIWRhcUP2c

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

    Hello Reinelle,

Thanks for the help, you’re right and we found that those duplicate tags are coming from the theme itself, once we located the setting and disable it, we tested the og:image with WhatsApp sharing and it works beautifully.

But then when we try to give it a try with the Facebook OG debugger, FB returns with the result that we believe come from the setting form the theme, which we just disabled.

Does it take time for FB to recognize the og value from RankMath?

    Thanks again.

    Hello,

Can you please clear your website cache including any server-level caching services?

Then, when you test your website in Facebook’s Sharing Debugger tool, please click on the button “Scrape Again”.

Let us know how that goes. looking forward to helping you.

    Hello Jeremy,

    Thanks for the advice.
We took the following actions with the caching part:
    1) Autoptimize -> Clear CSS/JS Cache
    2) Clear Site Cache
    3) Server -> Flush object cache

But we found the “og:image” and “og:description” are still missing in the Facebook OG Debugger.
    Not sure why…

    Thanks again.

    Hello,

Upon checking the page’s source code, it seems that the Open Graph tags are pushed way too down. Facebook and other social networks will only look for Open Graph tags in the first 60 KB of your page’s source.

Here’s a link for more information:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/open-graph-image-not-displaying/#num-3-5-ogimage-found-towards-the-end-of-source-code

Please check for any Gzip Compression feature on your site and disable it to fix this issue.

Once done, clear your website’s cache and check again using the Facebook Debugger Tool.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.
