Weird description snippet

    Rank Math free

    Hello,

We just did a test with the RankMath SEO Analyzer, and found that the Description under “Search Preview” & “Mobile Search Preview” a bit weird with the result of showing “From $59 #Soulmatte” when we got no product in this price range.

May I know is there a way to find out how the description snippet captured this result so we could modify it?

    Thank you very much.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

It seems that you are currently using custom WPBakery blocks created by “FEY” which I suppose is your theme provider.

Rank Math can’t read the content from these blocks and that is why Rank Math just randomly picks up any content our plugin can read.

You would need to contact your theme provider to help you integrate our Content API so our plugin can read all the contents from FEY blocks. You can share this knowledge base article for their reference – https://rankmath.com/kb/content-analysis-api/

If that doesn’t help you, you may need to manually set the description:

    seo

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello Jeremy,

Thanks for the inspection, we will talk to our theme provider.
Last but not least, may I know if I understand the features correctly?

    From the screencap you shared:
    – under the “General” tab: snippets are going for search engines and all sorts of sharing (IMs, e-mails preview…etc)
    – under the “Social” tab: snippets for only Facebook & Twitter respectively

    Thank you very much!

    Hello,

Yes, technically, the Search Engines and the Social Media platform should make use of the meta description. However, in Search Engines, this is not guaranteed as they sometimes choose a different content that they think is much more relevant for the search term.

As for your Social Snippet inquiry, they may be focused on Facebook and Twitter but you are generating Opengraph which is also commonly used by other Social media besides Facebook and Twitter.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Thanks so much for the detailed explanation, Jeremy.
    Have a great day!
