Can you please follow these steps?
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:

2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server.
After checking all that, remove all your sitemap/s from Google Search Console and submit only the primary sitemap (sitemap_index.xml).
Once done, clear your website and server’s cache (if any) and wait for Google to crawl the website again and see if that helps.

Thanks for your reply. I have found the issue and it looks like a bug. Rank Math is calculating number of images in the gallery twice.
For example: If I have 20 images attached in my gallery, it is showing as 40 images.
I will attach a link in sensitive data field. Check it out!
That linked post has 28 images attached (23 in gallery and 5 as media files) and yoast sitemap is showing number of images as 28 only.
But rank math is showing as 51 images because it is doubling the number of images in the gallery. (28+23 = 51).
Update: When I rolled back to version 1.0.92, it has started to show correct number of images of the sitemap.
After that, I installed the latest version now and it is also showing the correct number of images.

Could you confirm if you’re using a gallery plugin to add the images? If yes, please let us know the name of it along with the name of any page builder and theme you’re using.
Also, please confirm if that is the only post where you’re facing the issue or if it is site-wide.

I am not using any gallery plugin. I am using default gallery option in the WordPress and theme I am using is Fairy theme.
Sitemaps of all the post’s were facing this issue but now it is showing the right number of images, after I rolled back to version 1.0.92.
I would also like to know why the Last Modified column for categories and tags are blank in the sitemap?

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
