The word count function doesn’t count accurately

Hi,

My articles are mostly written in Mandarin, and the word count function doesn’t count the amount of the words correctly. For example, I’ve got approximate 12,000 words that were counted by WordPress Editor in the Mandarin version, but RankMath shows that there are only less than 600 words.

Currently, Rank Math or any other SEO plugin is not able to detect the correct word count for the Chinese language since Mandarin is a group of Chinese languages. Therefore you are seeing an incorrect word count in the content analysis.

So you can simply ignore the test as the SEO score is only for your reference and will not affect your site’s SEO performance. Web crawlers will be able to detect the correct word count and that’s what matters. You can also disable the test by using the following filter on your site:https://rankmath.com/kb/disable-seo-content-tests/#length-of-the-content
