Hi there, I was using Yoast on my site before then I switched to rank math on my site and I had a little issue with my site so I had to restore the backup. After restoring the backup, the RankMath plugin did not generate a sitemap for me, so I was told to use Yoast plugin to generate the sitemap.

After installing toast, it generated a sitemap and I switched back to rank math but later I saw this issue “This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it.” whenever I go to the sitemap for my site (https://www.glamcityz.com/sitemap_index.xml).

Also, my site started showing Japanese on google whenever I search out my site name “glamcityz”. Please help!

    Site URL: Glamcityz.com

  • Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

There seems to be malware on your site that is creating the sitemap and adding the spam links.

Please run a scan on your site and remove the malware to fix the issue.

    Hope this helps.

I don’t know but I restored a backup again and things were going smoothly…

Then I updated the rankmath plugin and now the whole issue is appearing again…

Can the new update of rankmath be the issue?

    Hello,

We go through a vast series of tests before launching any updates. Also, we’ve not received any such complaints in our updates.

However, it seems like your website might be hit by the Japanese keyword hack. Please go through this article to learn how you can take immediate action to fix that issue:
    https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/security/hacked/fixing_the_japanese_keyword_hack

You can also reach out to your web host regarding this issue so that they can assist you in cleaning the website and database.

Once done, please follow the below steps to provide Google with the updated and cleaned sitemaps:
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    3. Clear your website’s cache and remove all the sitemaps from your Google Search Console account, and then submit only the main sitemap: /sitemap_index.xml

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

Thanks a lot for the assistance. I Just found out it was a “Japanese Keyword Hack” and it has been resolved. The sitemap now show with rankmath stylesheet and no longer showing error…
