  • Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

    I’ve checked the collection page, and it seems that there is a product schema being applied, which generates the errors/warnings.

    Google recommends disabling the schema to your product category archives. The Product Schema is only for the actual product, and not for anything else. You can check this link for more information:
    https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/product#guidelines

    To fix this issue, you may need to enable the Remove Snippet Data option in Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Product Categories as that removes the product schema only from your category pages:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/titles-and-meta/#remove-snippet-data-4

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

    Hi Reinelle,
    what you say makes sense. A Collection should not have a product schema but in the list of templates there’s no other schema that looks similar.

    In Product Categories, the Remove Snippet Data options was already enabled.
    I did the same for Collections categories just in case as the snapshot below shows.

    Is it possible that it takes some time for Google to validate the fix? Can you look at the page now and see if the structured data now makes sense?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

    I checked the page, the Product Schema is still added to the page.

    Can you please clear the website cache and check the page with Rich Snippet Tool?
    https://search.google.com/test/rich-results

    If it is validated, submit the URL for validation in the Search Console and wait for Google to recrawl the URL.

    Let us know if the issue persists.

    We are here to assist you.

    Hi team,
    I did as requested. Configured the ‘remove snippet’ for Categories and Collections, cleared all caches and the check tool still finds the same mismatch, therefore the code is still being added. What do we do next?

    I believe that since the schema is linked from the collection page the global setting is not being considered.

    Can I find a proper schema template for a collection?

    Hello,

    In this case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

    Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

    Sensitive Data Section

    It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

    You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    We really look forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thank you for providing the login details for us to further check this issue of yours.

    The Collection seems to be a standard custom post type which we thought was a modified product category so the “Remove Snippet Data” option will not work.

    The product schema is manually added to your collection pages so you would need to remove that and insert a proper schema.

    You may refer to this guide to create a CollectionPage type schema: https://schema.org/CollectionPage

    However, since you are using the Free subscription, you don’t have the ability to add a custom schema. You may need the PRO subscription to do that.

    Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thanks for the thorough troubleshooting.

    Can I use another schema template from the list instead? Which one can work?

    Will consider then the PRO of price is accessible.

    Thanks again

    Hello,

    Since the collections are essentially lists of products the CollectionPage Schema is the most appropriate one, but if you cannot use that you can revert back to the default Article Schema or don’t add any Schema markup to those pages.

    The Product Schema that you currently have is not correct since it lists more than one product and that goes against the Google guidelines.

    Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Thanks. I bought the PRO subscription. Do I have to install a new plugin or I register the free one?

    Hello,

    Please follow this guide to install and activate Rank Math PRO on your site: https://rankmath.com/kb/rank-math-pro-license-key/

    Hope this helps.

    Hi team. I have purchased the PRO subscription thinking that I would obtain in return a CollectionPage schema template but there’s no such template built-in.

    Can you please help me find a way to import an excysting one so that I don’t need to create one from scratch?

    Hello,

    You may start by importing this sample basic CollectionPage schema code using our schema importer:

    {
                "@type": "CollectionPage",
                "@id": "http://mydomain.com/accessories/#webpage",
                "url": "http://mydomain.com/accessories/",
                "name": "Accessories - Rank Math PRO - WooCommerce",
                "isPartOf": {
                    "@id": "http://mydomain.com/#website"
                },
                "inLanguage": "en-US",
                "breadcrumb": {
                    "@id": "http://mydomain.com/accessories/#breadcrumb"
                }
            }

    After doing so, you can customize and add more properties to the starting schema you just imported.

    Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thanks but it doesn’t really help. I started to import the schema. The tool offers me dozens of properties. All show as ‘prooerties’ and to see the actual name I need to do a preview so my point to paying for a plugin that takes care of the markup is because I don’t have the knowledge to create my schemas or time to start to learn from scratch so I need a default one for a product collection page in fact (which I saw it exists) that I can use out of the box instead of spending days tinkering with the options.
    I really don’t know which properties I should use for Woocommerce product collections to show properly for Google.

    Can you help me with such solution?

    Thanks

    Hello,

    We currently don’t have a pre-built schema template for CollectionPage schema since this schema type is meant to be added automatically to taxonomy pages in our plugin.

    I checked your admin dashboard and it seems that you haven’t installed the PRO plugin yet and the PRO features still aren’t available.

    Kindly refer to this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCDe67K_3rA

    After that, you can make use of your schema templates which you can display on all of your collection pages.

    As for the properties, you can stick with the basic template I provided and add the basic variables so each schema on is unique.

    If you need further help with that, don’t hesitate to ask. We are here to assist you.

    Looking forward to helping you.
