404 Monitor Issue/Error

    Good day Support!

    I have issue with 404 monitor appearing on my website’s dashboard.

    I am worried about the Log counts and URL hits i see everyday. Does it mean my site have 404 issues that needs to be resolved? My website is new, and i just started adding contents on it. So, how come i am seeing 404 monitor error on the dashboard. Pls kindly assist me in resolving this issue, because i am getting scared with the URL Hits numbers i am seeing.     I logged into your website’s admin area and found that most of the reported 404s are likely accessed by bots and can be safely ignored.

    However, please note that we only report the 404s. We do not have information on how or why they are generated. You can check the 404 URLs under Rank Math > 404 Monitor.

    You can get further insight into them by enabling the advanced monitor at WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > 404 Monitor: https://rankmath.com/kb/monitor-404-errors/#advanced-404-monitor

    That will give you more information like referrer and user-agent.

    Thanks for your timely response. But i need to ask or confirm if rankmath redirection in my website is working and is redirecting 404s to my homepage? If it performs that functions then it’s cool. Please help me confirm if redirection is activated on my website. Thanks in anticipation.

    I can confirm that the Rank Math Redirection is currently active and working.

    As for the 404s to be redirected to the homepage. Please head over to your WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Redirections and set the “Fallback Behavior” option to “Redirect to Homepage”.
