Issue with News page – Rank Math considers it as archive page

#393827
  • Hi!

I have an issue making a News site on my website. I have created a new page named News and on this I want all the blog posts featured in a grid, so you get an overview of all the blog posts.
As soon as I publish the News page and put it in my primary menu, eveything goes wrong. It changes so the blog posts are now featured individually in big size, instead of a grid and I can’t edit the page anymore – I can now only edit the individual blog posts.

I found out, that if I disable the Rank Math plugin, the issue disappears. I was told that Rank Math is considering my news page as an archive page. But… how do I change this, so my News page is as I want it and so I can edit it? I really can’t seem to find anything in the settings to help solve this issue.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

An archive page is essentially a page that collects multiple instances of one post type, and in this case, that page is collecting multiple types of posts so it’s going to be considered an archive page.

That behavior cannot be changed, but having an archive page shouldn’t also cause the design of the page to change, but depending on the theme or page builder the way you edit that page specifically might change.

Could you please let us know more information as to what theme and page builder you are using and any other detail you find relevant about this particular situation so we can advise further?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.
