    Hi, sorry for my english.

My question is how to add BreadCrumb to my online store, my theme is OceanWP and I use WooCoomerce.

I want Breadcrumbs to appear all over the site (all pages) but not on the home page.

I have a child theme, but I don’t know which file to add the breadcrumb code to.

I would also like to know if there is an easier way.

  • Another useful information, I use the Elementor Header and Foother plugin.

It would be easier for me to add the breadcrumb shortcode to the menu created by the header and foother element, because it appears on the entire site, but unfortunately it also appeared on the home page and would not be interesting.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us for help with adding breadcrumbs to your website.

The simplest way to add breadcrumbs to your website would be to insert the breadcrumbs shortcode ([rank_math_breadcrumb]) in the Elementor header header or footer. You’ll need to use an element/module that accepts shortcodes and user a header template that can be set to not display on the homepage. If you hadn’t already, please check our detailed guide on how to use Rank Math breadcrumbs: https://rankmath.com/kb/breadcrumbs/

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have questions.

Hi Nigel, thank you very much for the reply. =)

Is it really okay for me to add another header just for the breadcrumb? Wouldn’t that make the site unnecessarily cumbersome?

If I add the code in my child theme, do you know which file I should copy to put the code in? It would be interesting if it appeared on all pages except the home page and the checkout onwards.

On the home page and from checkout onwards I didn’t want it to appear.

Is there a way to do this by adding the code to a specific file or files in my child theme?

My wish is that (breadcrumb) it only appears on product pages, categories, my account and other similar pages.

But I have no idea where to start and what to do. =/

    Hello,

Is it really okay for me to add another header just for the breadcrumb? Wouldn’t that make the site unnecessarily cumbersome?

Yes, it’s fine to create another header template for the breadcrumbs. It doesn’t add much weight to your website and is almost the same as adding a conditional breadcrumb in a child theme template.

If I add the code in my child theme, do you know which file I should copy to put the code in? It would be interesting if it appeared on all pages except the home page and the checkout onwards.

The exact theme template file to add the breadcrumb shortcode varies with each theme but the header.php file is a good first place to check.

On the home page and from checkout onwards I didn’t want it to appear.

Is there a way to do this by adding the code to a specific file or files in my child theme?

My wish is that (breadcrumb) it only appears on product pages, categories, my account and other similar pages.

Whether you use an Elementor template or file like header.php you can still set a condition to make the breadcrumbs appear only on pages you need it. Sadly, we can’t help you because it requires an amount of customization that is beyond the scope of our support. I would recommend you try setting an elementor conditional template first as that is the simplest solution.

Hope that helps. If you have questions, ask away.

May I ask for your help just one more time, please?

I did what you instructed me to do, in the Elementor before saving everything is ok, but outside the Elementor(site live) it is out of adjustment and in other colors.

Is it conflict with some internal breadcrumb?
The “Enable Breadcrumb” option in the theme settings is disabled.

Do I need to disable some breadcrumb in functions.php?

If you can help me I will be very grateful, I don’t know anyone to help me and in my country of origin, the level of digital knowledge is very low. =/

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

There may be a conflict between Rank Math or Elementor and another plugin on your website. To confirm the plugin please follow this guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

While in troubleshooting mode, activate only Rank Math, Elementor and the Header & Footer plugin and check if the breadcrumbs are displaying correctly. If they are, then activate your plugins one by one and refresh the page with breadcrumbs each time until the problem returns to find the source of the conflict.

Once you find the source of the conflict please contact their support as they may already have a solution for this. You can also contact us so we can investigate further.

Hope that helps. please let us know if you have questions.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
