500 – Critical error page-sitemap.xml

    Hello,
    I’ve started managing this website for a new client and they have installed Rank Math PRO. They had issues with the sitemap and, in general, with very little traffic coming to the site. Yesterday I created the sitemap with Rank Math while deactivating XML Sitemap plugin that was creating compatibility issues.

    I cleared the cache, inserted the exclusion from LiteSpeed cache plugin, updated the permalink structure and now the overall sitemap generated by Rank Math is working correctly. The only issue I’m facing is related to the page-sitemap xml that returns a critical error in WordPress. I’ve also updated PHP time limit and other server-related options but the error is still there. Could it be related to .htaccess file?

    I just opened a ticket with Closte hosting but I want to hear your thoughts on this. It would great to solve the issue having a 100% working sitemap in Google Search Console.

    Closte support just answered me saying that the 500 error is not related to the hosting. While waiting for an answer from you, I’ll try and reach LiteSpeed support aswell.

    I accessed all your sitemaps including the page sitemap but was unable to replicate the issue. The sitemaps are loading properly.

    Please have a look at the screencast in the sensitive data section of this ticket for a quick reference.

    If you’re still facing the issue, please clear your browser’s cache as well or try opening the sitemap in an incognito/private window of your web browser and see if that helps.
