Hello,
Thank you for contacting the support and we regret the inconvenience caused.
Please note that it is completely normal for a newly published post/page/website to take time before it gets crawled or indexed by Google. It depends on a lot of factors. Your posting frequency + the domain authority are just two of the many factors Google considers when indexing some new URL. Google assigns a crawl budget to your website depending on these factors (especially these two) and that has a direct effect on how soon or how late your content can get indexed.
However, I noticed that you have activated multiple XML sitemaps on the website. One is from Rank Math and another one is from Jetpack. It is recommended to use only a single XML sitemap plugin.
Also, I checked the robots.txt file of your website and you’ve added the sitemap URLs of Rank Math and Jetpack in there. You can have a look at the screenshot in the sensitive data section of this ticket for a quick reference.
If you want to use Rank Math’s sitemaps, please disable the sitemaps of Jetpack and remove its sitemap URLs from the robots.txt file.
Once done, clear your website’s cache and give Google some time to crawl the website again and see if more pages are indexed.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.
Hi Prabhat,
Thank you so much for flagging the issue of multiple sitemaps – I have made the correction,
I have created the website during february so its been two months now. Do you think it is normal to have only 4 pages indexed ? My most important pages are not on Google.
I have published a few contents and am getting some backlinks (5 for the moment) but still it is strange that 90% of my pages are « discovered, currently not indexed »
I am getting quite desperate now,
Thank you for your help
Hello,
Discovered – currently not indexed, means that the page was found by Google, but not crawled yet. Typically, Google wanted to crawl the URL but this was expected to overload the site; therefore Google rescheduled the crawl. This is why the last crawl date would be empty on the report.
Here’s the Index Coverage Report by Google:
https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/7440203
However, I would recommend checking out this article regarding the status:
https://www.contentkingapp.com/academy/index-coverage/faq/discovered-not-indexed/
Also, please confirm if “Discovered – currently not indexed” is the only status you see in your Google Search Console account’s coverage report or if there are any errors listed as well.
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Thank you.
