I read that you recommend “enable only one taxonomy archive in your sitemap. ”

I have “product category” and “brand” included in sitemap. So I have both
    /product_cat-sitemap.xml
    and
    /pwb-brand-sitemap.xml

does it mean I better remove one??

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

If both of these are taxonomy archives, you should include only one in the sitemap.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

I see both brand and product category are under taxonomy in sitemap setting.
So meaning they are taxonomy archive?

    in my /sitemap_index.xml

    there are
    /page-sitemap.xml
    /product-sitemap.xml
    /pwb-brand-sitemap.xml
    /product_cat-sitemap.xml

I think brand sitemap is more important, so correct to remove /product_cat-sitemap.xml this one?

    Hello,

It is completely up to you what you want to get indexed in the SERPs. If you think you can get more visitors by brand archives then you should index brands and set the category archives to noindex. If you think the categories can get you better traffic then you should keep the categories and noindex brands.

It is based on what you think people search more for your products. Brand of the products or the category.

Hope this clarifies your doubts. Let us know if you need any other assistance.

    Thanks.
