Quotes in How-to schema

    Hello,

    I want to remake my articles and incorporate the new How-to Schema, but I am facing some difficulties:

    1. The how-to block is messing my TOC. When I enable it, my TOC gets moved below the How-to Description. Which would be OK if I could keep the H2 with the title. Is including an additional H2 possible?

    2. Can I include quotes in the schema? They are an important visual part of my website that I use to stress the importance of specific details in the steps.

    3. When I add a Youtube video before the how-to schema without the tutorial intro before the video, it doesn’t look OK.
    Will it be OK if I write my intro first, then the video, then the TOC and only then the How-to comes (without Final image and description). Will Google still show the steps of the tutorial with images?

    4. As you see in the link, I already give an estimated time to complete the tutorial + materials needed for it. How can I keep this with the How-to schema?

    Thanks for getting in touch with us.

    1. The HowTo block should appear where you add the block. If it is not working correctly, we need to see it in action to see if some CSS is interfering with the positioning.

    2. Yes, you can include quotes in the HowTo instructions.

    3. Related to 1 above. We need to see it in action to suggest a fix.

    4. I am afraid you will need to redo everything and add all the information in a HowTo Block to make it Schema friendly.

    How can I activate the “Tools and supplies” part of the how-to schema too?

    It is something that will solve most of the problems with the page.

    Also, how to add the “Quotes” between the steps?
    The shortcut “> + space” doesn’t seem to work.

    Hi,

    We are sorry but you need to edit the code to make the block quotes work in the HowTo Block. We do not have a UI option for that.

    The “supply” & “tools” are just warnings but we have noted it down for improvement and this “issue” will be fixed in the next update of Rank Math.
    Please note that these (including the totaltime) are just warnings. Google recommends that you have these in your Schema but they are not essential. So, they will not have any effect on the ability of your content to appear with Rich Snippets in Google’s Search Engine Result Pages.

    Just a quick update that we have this feature suggestion: Improved FAQ Block UX by adding reordering feature. Now you can easily change the question order without rewriting the whole Question & Answer on one of our releases.

    Please update Rank Math & all other plugins, themes and WordPress to the latest version.

    The issue should be fixed.
