I checked on my end and wasn’t able to replicate the issue. If you change the slug of a page that has a parent page then the Auto Redirect Works just fine. Here is a quick screencast: https://i.rankmath.com/bm3mn7
If you are changing the slug of the parent page then it will only create the redirection for the parent page. The Auto Redirect is triggered when the slug of a page is edited. Since there is no change in the slug of the child page when you change the slug of the parent page, our plugin will not create a redirection for it.
You will have to manually create redirection for the child pages.

My colleague was taking about Pages only. The screencast shared by my colleague also shows the Auto-Post Redirect feature working for sub-pages.
Could you follow the screencast on your end and see if the redirection gets created?
If not, assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

I apologize for the confusion.
No, Rank Math won’t automatically create a redirection when changing parent pages. The auto redirection only applies when you change the permalink of a page.
However, WordPress should handle the automatic redirection when you change a parent page. Once you add a parent page to a child page, the old URL of that child page should auto-redirect to the new one.
