Simple regex redirect not working

    Hello,
I created several regex redirections that I thought were working a few days ago but are not working now.

For example, I have changed a tag slug from “visited” to “photos” and would like to redirect as such:

    Source URLs /listings/tags/visited/(.*)
    Destination URL /listings/tags/photos/$1

I have tried using the Redirect Debugger and it shows a blank space where the Destination URL should be.

I have also tried deactivating all other redirects, and Troubleshooting mode.

In every instance, I am getting 404 errors instead of redirect.

Is this something simple that I am not understanding?
    Thanks

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

In this case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

The username and password you provided don’t seem to work. It says the username or password is incorrect. Can you please check it again so we can troubleshoot the issue?

Looking forward to helping you on this one.

I’m sorry, I have fixed the login credentials. They should work now.

    Hello,

We were able to reproduce this issue on our set up and it’s due to a bug in the latest release of the Free plugin.

If you roll back to version 1.0.84 temporarily the redirections should work fine again.

Here’s a guide on how to roll back the plugin: https://rankmath.com/kb/version-control/#native-rollback

We also added this to our repository and when there’s an update on this we’ll also inform you of the same in this ticket.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Thanks

We are glad that we have addressed your concern.

If you have any other concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime to assist you further.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Could you please remove the initial trailing slash from the redirection so that it reads like so?

    listings/tags/visited/(.*)

Let us know if that helps solve the issue.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.
