    Hello RankMath team.
I want to make a redesign of my client website and I don’t want to lose any ranking for any of the keywords website is ranking for.
So a website is made with Elementor so I will love it if someone from your team that works with Elementor will answer me. That should probably not be a problem cuz you work hand in hand with Elementor.

So as I said I want to make a whole redesign of my client site. So my idea is that I make one NO-index page and inside of it I make all sections with design for the whole website. So section for the hero image, section for H1 and text, section with a gallery, and so on.
Hope that you know what I mean.

Then when all sections are done on the NO-index page I want to paste those sections on live pages and insert the same images and text that have been used on old sections, and then just save pages.

Is that good practice? What do you recommend I do?
Can such a process hurt my rankings if the whole content (text and images) basically stays the same, just the design of the website is changed?

Thanks a lot, wish you fantastic day
    Amadej

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math for help on the redesign of your website.

The last line of your request shows you understand well how a redesign might affect your website:

“Can such a process hurt my rankings if the whole content (text and images) basically stays the same, just the design of the website is changed?”

As long as the content stays generally the same the website redesign will have minimal impact on the SEO of your website.

Your approach to work on the redesign one page at a time is also good. If your time permits, Allow the redesigned pages to be crawled and check their performance before moving on to the next page.

You can also refer to the following post on how a redesign might affect your website: https://www.seroundtable.com/google-website-design-changes-content-changes-31277.html

Hope that helps. If you have questions do not hesitate to ask.

    Thanks for a fast reply.
So can you tell me this from personal experiences or at last your users experiences?
I mean I will love to hear some real experience opinions how this efect SEO game.

    Thanks 🙂

    Hello,

Personally, I don’t have any experience making a major change to a website’s appearance and observed the SEO status after doing so. One thing I know is that as long as the schema structure, the metas, and the overall content stay the same, this shouldn’t affect the current SEO performance.

Sure, in some cases, changing the appearance of the site may affect your SEO but in a good way. As long as the SEO configuration stays the same, the rankings will eventually go back to normal.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
