Good morning Rank Math Gurus.
I added some new products to my Woocommerce store, I still use the Classic Editor plugin on WordPress as I am not comfortable with Gutenberg, since the recent update on Rank Math all my SEO scores have dropped between 4 – 7 points and all my main first key words that were green are now orange, I am not tech-savvy and manage my own site to the best of my knowledge picked up from assistance and video’s that I watch and learn and try to apply to my site.
Is there any reason why this would have happened, should I stress about this drop in points on previously much better SEO scores on the previous version of the Rank Math Free plugin?

Hello,
Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
In our recent update, we have introduced a new test for detecting whether the user has used Content AI or not, in the content analysis. Since the maximum score is still 100 and a new test has been added, the score for each individual test has been decreased and that’s why you are seeing the drop in the SEO score.
In the previous version, there was an issue with the test going over 100 when the contentAI was being used. We have fixed that issue in this update and since the maximum scoring limit is now back to 100, you are seeing a drop in your SEO scores.
If you want, you can disable the ContentAI test using this filter: https://rankmath.com/kb/disable-seo-content-tests/#content-ai-test
Once done, you will get almost the same score that you had before. Here is how to add a filter to your site: https://rankmath.com/kb/wordpress-hooks-actions-filters/
Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.
Thank Jaideep, I will check out the links – would it not be an idea for Rank Math to change the number of words on Woocommerce product pages then, at least that may give us back a better SEO score if we do not use the ContentAI, as on Woocommerce product pages getting to 600 words is generally not great for the actual product as too much has to be written and one cannot keep it simple and concise – then because the number of words falls around 250 it gives a strike against SEO.
Perhaps changing that in some ways for Woocommerce actual product pages to have a lower number of words would help those of us that are not using ContentAI yet?
Just a thought to consider perhaps, I can understand on blog posts and other pages where information is relevant to hit 600 words at least – but product pages do not really need those amount of words generally.
Hello,
We have already modified the tests according to the product pages and the Content-Length test recommends using 200 words for the product pages.
Can you please confirm if it is still recommending 600 words on your end?
Looking forward to helping you.
Hi Jaideep
See as copied from my product page on my site – still states Content is 351 words long, consider using at least 600 words and I auto-update my Rank Math plugin so up to date?

Hurray! You’re using Focus Keyword in the SEO Title.
Focus Keyword used inside SEO Meta Description.
Focus Keyword used in the URL.
Focus Keyword appears in the first 10% of the content.
Focus Keyword found in the content.
Content is 351 words long. Consider using at least 600 words. What is concerning as well is not even our unique keyword to each of the products that we take care not to duplicate is also no longer green, so the first keyword that always use to be green now just falls together with the subsequent keywords placed in the orange bands.
Here are some of the url links, we had an 84/100 score before on these with the focus keyword always in green, now they are all in orange?

https://www.yabulela.co.za/gift-hamper-birds-world/Our word count on our product pages are generally well over 200 but it is still striking a penalty under SEO basic for not reaching 600 words?
Below is a new product that we added and following exactly the same steps as we always do we now only get 77/100
https://www.yabulela.co.za/gift-hamper-shiva-kosher/Hello,
Please use the filter provided here to disable the ContentAI test and the keyword should turn green: https://support.rankmath.com/ticket/seo-scores-have-dropped/?view=all#post-366135
And sorry for the confusion, the dedicated tests for WooCommerce are part of the PRO plugin. Since you are using the free version, you are still seeing the same tests as before.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.
Thanks.
Hi Jaideep
Thank you, I will try and disable the ContentAI filter – it may be a good idea to actually have an easy disable or enable block for AI, then so much easier for non-techies to just click and set the relevant option on the dashboard as it does seem to affect a large part of what we as non-techies know and understand to look for when learning the ropes.
Now it will be a whole other story when we do get comfortable with AI to include it again – we just manage our own website so code and such is hieroglyphics in our book.
We also get a message of warning when we follow the steps as suggested – not comfortable with doing this and then possibly messing up my theme and site – would feel much safer if it was something I could disable on the dashboard of RankMath instead. Just my two cents in thought.
Jaideep
there is actually a block for Content AI – if we disable it in the RankMath dashboard – will that not do what you are suggesting by adding the code physically, or will switching Content AI off in the dashboard of RankMath mess up general other search rankings?
Hello,
The module will disable the contentAI completely on your site but it will not disable the test. While the filter will only disable the test and you will still be able to use the ContentAI on the posts you want.
Also, if you feel uncomfortable with editing your theme’s files, you can simply use the Code Snippets plugin to add the filter.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.

So we tried disabling ContentAI on the dashboard but made no difference to the first focus keyword popping up in green. We ended up using one of our credits for the Shiva Gift hamper and now we have 85/100 with one green first focus keyword – guess it will mean we have to buy additional credits from Rank Math to get us back to a keyword status that we understand and aim for according to the RankMath guidelines.
We will eventually get there, it is disappointing though to not see our green score, yes it was not near the 100/100 mark yet – but we work hard to understand and apply the guide lines and inputs from RankMath to get there, so dark orange will just have to be our new go-to colour.
Hello,
Disabling the contentAI in the Dashboard will not affect the contentAI test. You will have to use the filter to disable the test. If you want, we can add the filter to your site.
Looking forward to helping you.
Thanks.
Hi Jaideep
I am going to consider getting some extra credits – think if I can just sort out my product pages for the score and focus green keyword – then it will be back to where we worked it to before the new tests came into play.
Does RankMath offer a tweak setup for the best possible results – so can a RankMath guru like yourself be paid for a tweak session – I know a table of the content plugin will probably get us a better score as well, but can’t make sense of how to use it, implement it anywhere on our site that it still looks good?
Or if we buy a pro-Rank Math Licence – can someone from RankMath help set it up for the best possible SEO on our site as it currently is set up with our Theme and Classic Editor so that we can still understand what to look for and check ourselves on scores, but it still functions like we are used to working with the plugin, apart from the new things we will have to get used to, learn how to check and use and implement, etc.
Hi Jaideep
We actually purchased a Pro subscription today, but we used a different email address to our existing Rank Math account email which is i***@y*************
The purchase was made via FastSpring order ref number RANKMATH220326-3581-96202 and invoice ID: IVVS3RWAQPFJAFDPG7FAFVD7PM34
We used g**********@y************* as the email on the purchase now it wants us to create another account which we don’t want to do, we want to use our existing account that has history and everything set up on the free version subscription that we currently are running.
Please advise and assist, we will look out for a reply on Monday the 28th of March.
Hello,
Sorry, but we don’t offer a service to set up the plugin on your site. If you want us to check then we can take a look if all the settings are correct and everything is working as it is supposed to.
For the Table of Contents, it should be at the start of the main part of your content. You can check our knowledge base to get a better idea: https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-setup/
However, if you think it doesn’t go with your content then you can simply ignore that test as you should create content for your readers, not just for the search engines.
We have also merged your accounts as requested.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.
Thanks.
