Correct Meta Description still not showing on Google - Support

Hello guys,

I have an issue (previously reported, ticket is closed https://support.rankmath.com/ticket/correct-meta-description-is-not-showing-on-google/) that still has not resolved itself.

In short, the meta description is different if I google “Skin Clinic Weybridge”. It shows “skin clinic surrey | skin clinic weybridge. Address 118 Oatlands Drive, Weybridge, Surrey KT13 9HL. Telephone 01932 212 798. Opening Times.”

If I search for the company (my client) “Loves Skin” the correct meta description is displayed “Our luxury skin clinic is a personalised journey to happier skin. Loves Skin offers a range of treatments using award winning treatment technology.”

You asked on the previous ticket when Google cached the website and is why I did’t responed quicker to your reply to give Google a chance to crawl it again.

Google recently re-cached the website on the 8th March 2020 (I have used the feature of getting instant crawling within your plugin) and there is still no change.

I really want this to be resolved rather than using Yoast again as your plugin is f**king awesome! and want to install it on other websites we have in production and some older ones. Many thanks.

Google “Skin Clinic Weybridge” and 4th down is the listing with the broken meta description

Clients website is http://www.lovesskin.co.uk

You can see the correct meta descrition when you google the company “loves skin” and is the first listed

Google will return the meta description depending the search intent and this is the same for all SEO plugins.

I have checked your source code and the right description has been set as shown below:

So why is Google not displaying it correctly then? I have built over 40 websites using Yoast without this issue ever happening before. I use your plugin for the first time and it does not work correctly.

Hi David,

Thank you for the reply.

As you will notice, Google is parsing you content for the search term “skin clinic weybridge” and since this keyword is present on your site footer and not the meta description the search engines deems this info is more important to user and displays it as the meta description.
