    Rank Math free

    Hello,

For someone who is new to SEO I started using YOAST and found it cumbersome to use with Elementor. So I lucked out that I found RankMath. The only issue which then makes me question the validity of the tool is the information provided on the backend vs the frontend in elementor.

For example, my score is SEO: 76 / 100 on the backend
The elementor front end is SEO 88 / 100

On the backend, under basic SEO I get the Following errors:

Focus Keyword not found in the URL.
Your content is 315 words long. Consider using at least 600 words.
on the frontend, I do not get these errors

Under the additional section I get these errors:

No outbound links were found. Link out to external resources. It helps visitors read more about a topic and prevents pogosticking.
We found 0 outbound links in your content and all of them are nofollow.

I don’t get these errors on the frontend as I have external links

Under Content Readability I have this error:
At least one paragraph is long. Consider using short paragraphs.
    No error on the frontend.

So I am just struggling with understanding what information is accurate and spending a lot of time re-working the content based on the backend information and no matter what I change it to I still get these errors.

One last thing, I don’t get the whole slug thing for the main home page. It doesn’t add it to the snippet permalink. So I do understand since this is tied to the url it may not doe this, but having said that if I look at competitor sites, their main url has the permalink. Just a bit confused.

Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

The discrepancy in score is expected behavior since Rank Math displays content using shortcodes which is not the case on the backend and thus some test may not execute properly.
I can suggest that you follow the recommendations on the backend tests.

Unfortunately your last question is not very clear, could you please share a few screenshots for illustration?

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hi Michael,

If you look at the 4 files on my onedrive, you will see what I mean. The slug is filled in, but the https://www.lascasatortugas.ca does not contain the permalink. Under the basic SEO tab, you will see the error “Focus Keyword not found in the URL.” I’m assuming that the focus keyword should be in the permalink, but since the url is the domain name that’s not possible. Please take a look at the example from canadastays. In their snippet it shows the url with the permalink. I’m just confused about this area. How is it possible that they can do this?

    Thanks,

    Lynette

    Hello,

    Thanks for the follow up.

It is no possible to modify the permalink of the homepage.

The fourth image shared does not display a homepage this is likely a post or a category as you can see from the breadcrumbs on top of the SERP result:
    https://domain.com/dominican-republic-vacation-home-rentals

You can also modify the permalink for any other page or post on your site but not the homepage.

At the moment, you can ignore the “Focus keyword Not Found in URL” test on the homepage. This will not affect your SEO.

    I hope this info helps.
