hello,
I discovered that local language is not taken from the wordpress general settings anymore. I set language to German (Austria) and Location to Vienna to get a locale of de-AT. Right now I get a local of de-DE with that setting. It works correct if the General Settings are set to Switzerland – the locale is de-CH, but it does not work for Austria AT.

I have that on 5 and more websites.

Could that be fixed?

OK
<html lang=”de-AT” prefix=”og: https://ogp.me/ns#”>

NOT OK
<html lang=”de-DE” prefix=”og: https://ogp.me/ns#”>

• Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

The HTML lang attribute is managed by WordPress. And it seems like WordPress doesn’t add de-AT for Austria and uses the same de-DE tag. However, you can follow this tutorial to change it by editing the header.php file of your theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZghgztXVjw

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.
