structured data markup

    Rank Math free

I have a website selling several products using WooCommerce. I also have RankMath installed (I am using Thrive Themes). When I go into the Products tab in WooCommerce, and scroll down into the RankMath area, I have the option of using “Product” or “WooCommerce Product” as part of the schema generator. If I choose WC Product, I do not have any customizations that I can do. My understanding is that they occur behind the scenes. However, if I use “Product”, I am able to complete many fields such as offers, reviews, aggregate Review, etc. I only bring this up because I just submitted my sitemap for indexing and Google came back with several errors, including the lack of fields such as offers, review, aggregateRating, etc. As you know, these are important for structured data markups. So, what should I do?

    My URL is https://mintcottagecreations.com/

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

To resolve those warnings, please follow the guides below:

    “aggregateRating” and “review” warning

Check out this knowledge base guide to resolve the aggregate rating and review warning – https://rankmath.com/kb/aggregate-rating-error/

    offers

To fix the offers warnings, please note that the offers schema is automatically generated when you add the price to your products.

If the issue persists, please share the affected URL with us we can further check it.

Looking forward to helping you with this one.

    Thank you.

I will look at the links you sent me. In the meantime, do you agree I should be using the WooCommerce product schema and not the “Product” schema?

    Hello,

We recommend the WooCommerce Product Schema since it fetches all the data directly from your WooCommerce Products, and turn them into schema-ready content automatically.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

    Hello.

I was able to do much of what was outlined in the technical information you sent me. I am working on having some reviews published for the products as well. It seems like I am able to input reviews myself, but I’m afraid to do so in case I will get penalized by Google. (Let me know if this is not the case and I will throw some reviews at the products to help out that particular issue).

In any case, I retested the URL which was the subject of the error message and the errors are still present. Are you able to take a look at that?

The landing page for the website is https://mintcottagecreations.com . The particular URL that apparently is having an issue is https://mintcottagecreations.com/shop

Thank you for helping me out with this. I am new to this, but am enjoying learning about it and your product appears to be very well engineered.

    Hello,

The product Schema should only be applied to the single product pages and since the shop page is a collection of your products it shouldn’t include the Product Schema.

Please navigate to WP Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > WooCommerce and enable the Remove Schema Markup on Shop Archives option to fix the issue.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.

    Thanks.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I do not have that as a menu option on Rank Math. What could be wrong?

    Hello,

It seems like you are using the easy mode of Rank Math. Some options are only available in the advanced mode. Please follow this guide to switch to the advanced mode: https://rankmath.com/kb/switch-from-easy-to-advanced-mode/

Once done, you will be able to see the option.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.

    Thanks.

Thank you. I am able to see that option now. I will re-check Google now to see if the errors still persist.

Regarding the issue of not having product reviews yet, I am working on having some reviews published for the products as well. It seems like I am able to input reviews myself, but I’m afraid to do so in case I will get penalized by Google. (Let me know if this is not the case and I will throw some reviews at the products to help out that particular issue).

    Thanks again,
    Christopher

    Hello,

You should wait till you get some reviews from your customers as it is against Google’s guidelines to leave reviews on your own products and you will get penalized if Google detects that.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.

    Thanks.
