Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
I have checked your site https://theupperranks.com/ and I can see that both the URLs (https://theupperranks.com/threads and https://theupperranks.com/infographics) are not redirecting anywhere and are working fine.
You can also check the status of these URLs on https://httpstatus.io/.
Next, on further investigation, I found that https://theupperranks.com/infographics is added to the sitemap, however, https://theupperranks.com/threads is missing.
In order to resolve this, could you please follow the mentioned steps:
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp
2. Exclude the Sitemap files from your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
3. Clear your website’s cache and see if the issue is fixed.
Please let us know how it goes.
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
ok, it looks like it’s in the sitemap now, and i just trying re-indexing them in search console. not sure what could have triggered this
Hello,
Yes, the page is now added to the sitemap.
When caching is enabled, the sitemap of your website ends up being cached as well, which is the opposite of what should happen.
Since a sitemap should always be up to date with the pages and posts on your website, caching it defeats the purpose.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.
Search Console is still saying Validation failed due to redirect error
any clue?
Hello,
I’ve checked your sitemap, and all your URLs have a trailing slash at the end. However, the links you shared don’t have one so that’s why you are seeing this error.
The URLs should be like the following example (notice the slash at the end):
https://yourdomain.com/page_1/
https://yourdomain.com/page_2/
Those URLs are already showing fine in your sitemap and your robots.txt seems fine as well.
In this case, you can resubmit your sitemap to your Google Search Console account. Once done, give Google some time to recrawl your site.
Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you on this one.
do i need to change or do something on the wordpess end, or just re-submit the sitemap to google?
Hello,
You just need to resubmit the sitemap to the Google Search Console.
Nothing else has to be done on the WordPress part.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.
