    Hello team,
    I hop you are all safe.

    I have Rank Math on two sites (running the same theme and pretty much the same plugins and custom CSS) and this is occurring on both sites.

    The meta tag %category% %sep% %sitename% set for categories is placing the top level category description only and not the sub-category name in the meta description

    Thus the sub category Cambodia under the parent category Asean News is showing as Asean news | Asean News Today with %category% %sep% %sitename% instead of Cambodia| Asean News Today in the snippet producing multiple Category snippets with the same title.

    Hi and thanks for the fast reply.

    In the meantime I’ve been doing some testing and found that if I replace %category% %sep% %sitename% with %title% %sep% %sitename% in the master settings it will display the sub-category snippet correctly for categories.

    I’ve left this open in case you have additional questions.

    We’re glad that you got that sorted and thank you for sharing the details.

    If you wish to show the name of the current category/sub-category, then you can also use the %term% variable. This variable fetches the name of the current term on taxonomy archive pages.
